Massage can help relieve anxiety, tension and promote relaxation and well being. Swedish and Integrative Massage is a gentle light massage that has a soothing action on the sensory nerves with using effleurage (gliding), rubbing, compression strokes on the superficial layer of the body. Trigger Point and Deep Tissue Massage is more vigorous direct pressure; Petrisage (knead, squeeze, rub and use friction) in the deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue and fascia to improve the circulation, free adhesion and aid the muscles in disposing of accumulated waste products. Areas that I specialize in: Listening and focusing to the clients area of pain or need and reducing stress in the body. I like to work on the head and neck especially a client with a headache or migraine, or TMJ. I frequently work in the muscle group involving the upper back, shoulder, elbow to the hand to improve blood circulation and reduce muscle tension. Another area I specialize in is the lower back gluteal region, hips and legs. I like to discuss night time postural sleeping patterns and breathing patterns when lifting, pulling, and pushing at work/home to help educate the client with self care. |
