In 1889, a class of 59 entered FHS, but only 13 graduated. Miss Zula Zeibach has to be on the all-name list.
The Freeport High School baseball team "had a fine season, losing only to a 'loaded nine' from Rockford with few high school players," according to the 1896 Stella. Players were Lalon Hayes, P. Moogk, T. Skeel, P. Murphy, C. Nieman, L. Voigt. L. Griffith, W. Wright, F. Putnam, W. Smythe and Charles Ascher.
