On June 3, 1903, President Theodore Roosevelt came to Freeport for the dedication of the Lincoln-Douglas Debate plaque and boulder. Hes in the photo facing the boulder, back to the camera.
Then
President Roosevelt went to the courthouse for brief remarks and met with
these distinguished gentlemen, the Welcome Delegation, before going back
to the train station.
