Biblical
Aromatherapy
by Robert Bike The Bible mentions about 232 plants by name, or closely enough to figure out what plant is meant. Of these, 24 are aromatic plants; that is, parts of the plants can be pressed or distilled to get an essential oil. Essential oils are the lifeblood of plants and have tremendous healing capabilities. The
healing power of plants is the basis for modern medicines.
Originally published in manuscript form in 1999, I completely revised the book and added illustrations. To order
Biblical Aromatherapy in paperback, List price $24.99; introductory offer $19.99 To order the pdf version and download to your computer or phone, The electronic version is only $2.99! |

Roger Hayes is author of On Point, A Rifleman's Year in the Boonies, 1967-1968.
I read it; it's excellent.
And that's not just my opinion--it is used as a textbook at the U.S. Army War College.
Roger sang & played guitar in several bands in Freeport.
He includes photos from this website on a YouTube video.
An article in the June 15, 1969, issue of the Rockford Morning Star about Roger's tour in Vietnam is here.
Class of 1965's Patty Schmidt was remembered in the 2011 Polaris.

Lance Elbeck played violin in high school. Actually, he started playing at age 10. From 1978 to 2011 he played with the Hamilton, Ontario Symphony Orchestra as concertmaster.
Lance graduated from the Curtis Institute of Music where he studied with Ivan Galamian. From 1972 to 1976 he was a section violinist in the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and the Philadelphia Orchestra, as well as a member of the Philadelphia Chamber Players.
When the Houston Grand Opera brought its revival of Gershwins Porgy and Bess to Philadelphia in the summer of 1976, Elbeck was the orchestras concertmaster. Nancy, an oboist and English horn player for them, became his wife a year later.
Before his 2011 retirement, he played with Tony Bennett, Lena Horne, Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, and Leonard Bernstein. He was also concertmaster for the Toronto Philharmonia, the Toronto Concert Orchestra, and the Grand Salon. He has also taught at McMaster University and the Hamilton Conservatory for the Arts. He also played with pianist Charles Cozens with Fiddle on Fire.
